Windance Ranch 2020 Hunting Season

Greetings from Windance Ranch we have figured out our pricing for the 2020 hunting. I will be giving you all the information I can in this email to better help you understand our options for hunting on our ranch. We have 2 houses on the the property which can be found VRBO website. Search for property # 1635928(lodge) which is the house we recommend and the only one we have priced out. The cabin is the other VRBO #1634374 (cabin)there is a nice video on this one that only shows the lower property. Staying in the lodge is one of most luxurious hunting accommodations you will find anywhere. I prefer that hunter stay in the lodge because it is better for hunting because it is centrally located on the ranch. You should be aware that I intend to rent the cabin during your hunt. I originally had said hunters would have to rent the whole ranch with both houses but it made the pricing very high. So this has been done in a effort to make hunts more affordable, but one could also rent the cabin as well. I have already put rules in place to let whoever may be renting the cabin that it is not open to them and they do not have access to roam the ranch during their stay at the cabin(they would not be hunting). I have 4 hunting spots where we generally sit in the morning and evening and wait for the elk to come by. I have done much work and will continue to improve shooting lanes and new stands have been added. We have a large woods that we try not put any pressure on because the public push them into to there and we do not want them going back up to the public(just wait for them to come out). We have many hayfields which are irrigated and the elk love. Abundant water rolls threw the ranch and we have 5 ponds with 3 of them stocked with fish which you can fish during your stay. We do not connect directly to public land but it is very nearby to the ranch. Me along with my employee will do everything we can to make your stay a good experience. We will help with hunting on the ranch and help you pack out any animals you may shoot. I hope to get my outfitters license this year which will allow me to take you on guided hunts on the public. I need to obtain this license which is not a guarantee but I would say its more than likely I will get it. Our pricing is based on level of success historically threw out past hunting seasons but every season could be as good as any other it is hunting after all. April 2 is the deadline for any draws you may try to receive such as buck either sex elk and elk cow tags. Most elk bull tags or over the counter are can be bought for private land only. 4 hunters is generally what I like for the hunting the ranch. We require 1/2 the cost of hunt for a deposit which is non refundable to lock in your hunt. Archery has sold for 2020
Archery season August 31 thru Sept 29

Archery 1st 7 days
Aug 31- Sept 7th thru the 10th, the 10th would be the last day

Archery 2nd, 7 days
This hunt is more because because it more desirable because of the elk rut

1st season 5 days and 6 nights

This is most desirable hunting season for elk because of the rut. You can generally pick up a either sex tag which is good for private land only or get a draw for 1st season bull which would allow you to hunt the public as well. No deer tags are available for this season. Oct 10- 14th
Oct 9th- 14th for lodging

2nd season 9 days and 10 nights
I like this season because it is most popular season for hunting statewide. It see the highest number of hunter so it gets the game moving more. You are more likely to draw a buck tag fo this season than any other season. Oct-24th-Nov 1

We have 4 buck tags available for this season which can be used anywhere in unit 25, we sell them for $1000 a piece

3rd season 9 days and 10 nights
I like this season for the possibility of snow which makes it easier to track and see elk and it may drive more of them down. This is a new hunting time for this season which should make it more in the buck rut. It is harder to draw one of these tags for buck but we may have land owner vouchers for them for sale. Nov 7th- 13th
Nov 6th - 13th lodging
