Barnstable, 7,604 Acres of Public Hunting Land for Duck, Exotics – Barnstable, Massachusetts

Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge is one of the eight refuges that comprise the Eastern Massachusetts National Wildlife Refuge Complex. This refuge protects habitats critical to the survival of migratory birds, horseshoe crabs, tiger beetles, gray seals, and other wildlife. Approximately 3,080 acres of this refuge are designated for hunting waterfowl, duck, goose and coot in accordance with Massachusetts regulations. The use of dogs is permitted for retrieving game. Refuge waterfowl hunting is permitted in open water areas only, to the west of South Monomoy Island within Nantucket Sound. Hunting is prohibited throughout upland areas.
