About Us
DHII are located in the heart of the scenic and game-rich Zone 9 of Allamakee County, Iowa. Most of the land is along the banks of the Mississippi River with the topography varying from cedar choked limestone bluffs to brushy creek bottoms and large secluded fields. Hundreds of apple trees have been planted and a wide array of food plots including turnips, brassicas, peas, kale, alfalfa, clover, rye, barley, corn, soybeans, and sorghum. As well, dozens of sanctuaries have been created in and around the area to foster mature bucks. DHII have plenty of water sources and a large amount of stands and blinds. The properties were laid out under the guidance of professional deer habitat specialists with carefull cultivation of the forestry to better the habitat, installation of water sources, preparation and seeding of food plots, the planting of tens of thousands of trees and shrubs, with the goal in creating a trophy whitetail heaven.
