About Us
Tallahatchie Hunts provides guided duck and deer hunting experiences on private lands in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi. The area is home to public and private game preserves that serve as crucial resting spots for maintaining large waterfowl populations throughout the winter.
The convergence of the Tallahatchie, Coldwater, and Yocona Rivers in Tallahatchie County, along with the drainage from the reservoirs of Sardis, Enid, and Arkabutla in northwest Mississippi, creates ideal backwater flooding conditions during the winter months. Most hunting activities with Tallahatchie Hunts take place on land adjacent to these rivers in the Mississippi Delta region.
Since 1991, the deer population in Tallahatchie County has seen a significant increase, with numerous large whitetails found in the fields and timber. Each year, hunters at Tallahatchie Hunts harvest record-book bucks from these lands.
Mike "Catfish" Flautt, one of the most seasoned guides in the Mississippi Delta, has a hunting experience spanning over fifty years in the area. Known for his exceptional success rate, Catfish prioritizes hunting in locations where the ducks are, regardless of the weather conditions. Unlike others who may hunt in heated pit blinds in empty fields, Catfish ensures that his clients have a memorable hunting experience every day of the season.
