The exit tube is secured by another heavy-duty lockable hatch similar to the entrance. When Utah Shelter Systems installed this shelter, it was elevated on a bed of gravel and has a slight North-South decline which provides for water gravity flow to the inground PVC drainage system. This system then directs the flow of the water approximately 100 feet downhill and away from the shelter’s underground footprint. The slight decline is not noticeable to anyone within the shelter.
