Sleeping accommodations on the property are available at the rate of $100 per day.

The 50 acre property will be available to 3 archery hunters for 7 days for a price of $2,000, discounted from the $2,925 standard rate in this Listing. There are no sleeping accommodations available.

We did not purchase the property until October 2014, so we got a late start on hunting it, and had only a few out-of-state hunters hunting with us. However, we all saw so many huge deer, including huge does in groups, that some of the hunters asked us if we would adopt them!!!

The property consists of 199.47 acres, with a wide variety of terrain, including hills, valleys, creeks, lakes, approximately 45 acres of pasture adjacent to absolutely trampled deer bedding areas, and 1,000’s of acres of swamp, creeks, and mining property on most sides of it.

According to a neighbor who is in the mining business, the combination of mining properties where hunting is prohibited and terrain, added to a few thousand acres owned by individuals who don’t allow hunting, is the reason why we heard so few shots on Opening Day of Rifle season except on our property. When I checked with friends hunting other areas, they said it was a typical opening day, sounding like a war zone.

Our neighbor said that there are probably lots of huge deer in these areas who have grown old and died never having seen a hunter, and that is why there are so many large deer around our property.

There are crop fields probably no more than 700-800 feet away.

The previous owners hunted here for approximately 12 years. In the last 5 years they harvested a 191 Buck, and 197 Buck, both from the same stand, but they and neighbors state that a number of 150 and 160 Class Deer were taken on this property.

This 2014-2015 partial Season saw a 225 pound, an 11-Point Buck, a 200 pound, 8-Point Buck, and two 175 pound, 7-Point Bucks taken on this property, plus some huge Does for meat.

Turkeys are everywhere, and another of them were taken this Fall Season.

For the 2015-2016 Deer Season, KY FISH & WILDLIFE HAS UPGRADED HOPKINS COUNTY TO A ZONE 1 COUNTY, which means there are so many does that a hunter can take as many as he wants.

There are 5 enclosed shooting houses, a number of tent blinds in good spots, as well as portable tower stands, which may be moved if desired. There are feeders, and a couple of food plots, if weather permits.

There is an area of approximately 25-35 acres, which the previous owner kept as a sanctuary for deer and turkeys, and has never been hunted. This adjoins a large creek and swampy area, so no telling what is in there?

We have just decided to offer this property to a few hunters, limited to approximately 5-6 for the early 2-day Muzzle Loader Deer Season in October 2015, and the same for the opening week of Rifle Deer Season.

We had a few groups of hunters who called us this last season saying they had paid $2,500 each for 3-days of hunting; they we figured we saw more deer on our property on Opening Day then they saw in the 1st 3-days.

We charge $175 per day per person on Opening Weekend of any Deer Season, then $125 per day per person for any additional days.

If you choose to, we have a 2,400 square foot building on the property, with heat, power, bath with shower, refrigerator, microwave, cots, etc, which we would rent for $100 per day, which would cover up to 6 people.

The OTHER GREAT HUNTING PROPERTY,
which we would lease on the same basis is a 50-acre parcel in next door, Christian County, KY, near the city of Crofton, KY.

It consists of a 17-acre lake, approximately 17-acres of woods, and the rest is open field. It is surrounded by crop fields on most sides, and the only covered access to those crop fields is through my woods. According to neighbors, this property has always been the main access for deer to the crop fields.

This property was almost unhunted for this past season as a family emergency, literally at the last moments, cancelled the Rifle Hunters.

A couple of soldier friends did harvest a 200 pound, 10-point deer, and an even larger 8-point.

Unless there has been a heavy rain to wipe out the deer tracks, I have never been in my field adjoining the crop lands when I could not look down anywhere and see deer tracks, literally 100’s of them throughout the field!!!!!

This 50 acres, because of its layout, could easily support 3 hunters for Gun Seasons.

Rates would be the same as for the 199 acres described above, per day.

No accommodations are available on this property, unless you choose to camp there, at no cost.
