The 200 fenced acres are at the end of the road and hunts like much more since it is a Forest Service inholding completely surrounded by the Rio Grand National Forest. The property sits at about 9000ft elevation which is evenly split between aspen, open meadow and dark timber. It is a designated calving area in the spring so there is no motorized vehicle access past the property. The area supports a herd of elk year-round but is also on a migration route which can be quite spectacular if you catch it with elk migrating from New Mexico and the South San Juans. We kill elk here most every year and tags are available over the counter for 2nd and 3rd season rifle. The rustic log cabin built in 2021 is off grid but comfortable. It sleeps 5 in double beds/person and is heated by wood stove. It has propane lights, stove and fridge. Water is provided by foot pump with 5 gallon cans filled from the on property spring. Particulars are covered by the outhouse. An ATV is also available for game retrieval. The bonus is the wood fired hot tub which is also filled from the spring. There is nothing better than an epson salt soak after a great day in the woods!
