This 11,121 - acre land is made up of undulating ridges and swales, with elevations ranging from 50 to 70 feet above sea level. Six small bayous flow through the area, providing approximately 13 miles of waterways. The WMA provides hunting opportunities for the hunters which include hunting of white-tailed deer, squirrel, rabbit, waterfowl, woodcock, snipe, and raccoon. The main tree species on this area are willow, Nuttall, over cup, and water oak; sweet gum; green ash; persimmon; sugar berry; honey locust; sweet and bitter pecan; elm; cypress; and tupelo gum. Buckhorn WMA provides hunting opportunities for the hunters which include hunting of white-tailed deer, squirrel, rabbit, waterfowl, woodcock, snipe, and raccoon. The designated hunting area is also available for the people who are physically challenged. Camping facility is not available at this land.
