Windosr, 2,183 Acres of Public Hunting Land for Whitetail Deer, Turkey, Exotics – Windosr, Vermont

This land is located in the Southern Green Mountains region. The major area of this land is located in southeast Cavendish and a small portion is located in the town of Baltimore. The total area of this land is 2,183 – acre. The surface of Hawks Mountain WMA is very steep and rugged, ranging in elevation from approximately 700 feet along the Black River to 1,940 feet on the slopes of Hawks Mountain. The animals and birds available for hunting include: black bear, moose, white-tailed deer, bobcat and fisher, porcupines, raccoons, turkey and ruffed grouse. Camping is also allowed at this land on designated area only.
