Sussex, 2,899 Acres of Public Hunting Land for Whitetail Deer, Turkey, Duck, Exotics – Sussex, Delaware

This land is located in Sussex County in Delaware. The major area of this land is consisting of grass land and the rest is occupied by thick forest, brushy upland, and wetland. The total area of this land is 2,899– acres. The surface of Assawoman Wildlife Area is very steep and rugged, ranging in elevation from approximately 700 feet along the Black River to 1,940 feet on the slopes of Hawks Mountain. The animals available for hunting include White-tailed deer, Turkey, Pheasants, and Waterfowl. Restrooms are not available on this site. No alcoholic drinks and drugs are allowed on this land. Moreover, a designated hunting area is available for the people who are physically challenged.
