This wildlife management area is located in Sumter County across the Tombigbee River. This 8,308-acre area provides a great chance for hunters to hunt a large variety of wildlife species which include: rabbit, fox, snipe, woodcock, waterfowl, quail, dove, squirrel, deer, turkey, and furbearer and many others. Falconry will be legal on all AREA only for the falconers bearing a legal permit. The weapons which are permitted at David K. Nelson WMA are: muzzle loader, rifles, pistols, archery and shotguns. The use of dogs for stalk hunting of deer or for turkey hunting is prohibited. Camping is allowed only at the designated areas.
