Hunting lease available in northern California

Located in the heart of California’s largest man-made lake and recreation area falling in Shasta County and in the beautiful Klamath Mountains of northern California. Over 2,200 acres of wilderness and privacy. Has some adjacent National Forest lands for additional hunting, hiking and exploration. Incredible views, springs, creeks, trees and an abundance of wildlife, this unique property is one of the last of the large private tracts of land this close to the lake. One of the crown jewels of northern California is magnificent Shasta Lake. Providing world-class recreational and outdoor activities, this almost 30,000 acre lake with over 360 miles of shoreline is California’s largest man-made lake. One of the tallest mountains in the area, “Sacramento Mountain”, lies between the Sacramento arm and the McCloud arm of Shasta Lake. The ranch encompasses much of the south and southeast portion including the peak with an elevation of 3,354 feet. Much of the ranch has steep terrain. The varied topography and elevation changes provide many outstanding views in all directions. There’s a nice clearing on the east side that takes advantage of some of these views and is a great camping spot. There are a variety of trees including oak, fir and pines. Of the many features on this ranch are several seasonal, and five year-round creeks flowing through the acreage, including a trout stream, and an awesome waterfall and swimming hole. We are within minutes of the lake’s shoreline and some of California’s finest recreational water activities and sports. We are offering the ranch for deer, hog (not common yet), spring turkey, and fishing. Rifle is fine, but would also be well suited to bow. Looking for a responsible group of outdoorsmen who will practice good game and land stewardship. Prefer a family group, or existing group of friends. Guests/family are also welcome, but any game they take comes off of the member’s game quota. We are offering the ranch for an annual lease. Would like to establish a long term association. The lease is open to a total of four members, and the combined/total lease cost for the year is $13,230 ($6 per acre). Lodging is also available at an additional cost if preferred to RV/camping.
