northwest iowa timber farm

This 370 acre farm is located along the Little Sioux River a few miles from Linn Grove, Iowa.  The farm is located in section 4 of Barnes township, buena vista county, and contains 200 acres of timber, 60 acres of row crop, 2 acres of alfalfa, 6 acres of grapes, and the balance WRPand CRP.  If you look at a topo of the farm we are mostly on the North side of the river.  The CRP is a native wildflower and native grass mix, but is predominatly big blue stem.  The property has been rented to out of state hunters for the past ten years, but our hunters did not draw tags this year. Most of the land surrounding us is owned by avid deer hunters, who manage for trophy bucks. We have a tremendous class of bucks this year.  We also have a plentiful crop of turkeys and pheasants.  As an added bonus we have a vacation rental which is located adjacent to the farm and a winery which is just down the road a block.  If you get tired of hunting try fishing for large mouth bass in the crystal clear pond or catfish in the river.
