Cayuga, 27 Acres of Public Hunting Land for Duck – Cayuga, New York

This wma comprises 26.6 acres and consists of two islands in the southern end of Cross lake. The seneca river flows via the lower third of the lake, passing the two islands. The islands are only accessible by way of boat. The only hunting opportunity that exists on the two islands is waterfowl hunting. Migratory game bird hunters are reminded that it is illegal to discharge a shotgun over water unless there is no person, livestock, house, or public structure located along the line of discharge within 500 toes from the point of discharge. Cross lake islands wma is positioned in the southern give up of cross lake and the two islands can only be accessed by way of boat. A public hand launch is placed on the seneca river on bonita bridge road approximately three miles downstream of cross lake. There are also two non-public boat launches that cost a fee: Cross lake park campground and marina and cross lake Inn and marina. Parking region is available for the hunters and camping is not allowed on the land.
