This 325 - acre high desert meadow is located in Inyo county. The region is open for small and large game hunting year-round. The area is enclosed by Inyo national forest. The zone provides premium facilities for small and large game hunting. Hunting opportunities in this wildlife territory include deer, mountain quail, black bear, rabbit, dove, and blue grouse. Along the eastern part of the area McGee creek runs that provides an excellent trout fishing opportunity. The Buttermilk country wildlife area permits the use of shotguns, archery, and rifles.
