The 2,800 acres of land supports a great number of wildlife, comprising river otters, warblers, coyotes, ash-throated flycatchers, and number of waterfowl species. The tract is located in Sutter and Yuba counties and has abbott and o’connor lakes. Feather river state wildlife area offers small and big game hunting, and upland game bird hunting. Game species available for hunting are dove, pheasant, quail, turkey, rabbit, tree squirrel, and deer. The region has few areas that can be accessed by boat only. Alongside hunting, there is an opportunity for fishing as well.
