Colfax, 33,116 Acres of Public Hunting Land for Elk, Mule Deer, Turkey, Exotics – Colfax, New Mexico

This is one of the largest hunting tract situated in Colfax County. The most area of this land is covered with brushy uplands and the rest is covered with Cimarron River Canyon. The total area of this land is 33,116 - acres. The animals that can be hunt on this land are Bear, Elk, Deer, Turkey, and Grouse. Developed campsites are available on this site for the hunters. Fishing can also be done in the Cimarron river. The fish stocked in river is rainbow trout. Colin Neblett wildlife management area also provide other opportunities for the hunters which include hiking, horseback riding, trapping, and wildlife viewing.
