Charles City, 5,217 Acres of Public Hunting Land for Whitetail Deer, Turkey, Dove, Duck, Exotics – Charles City, Virginia

Virginia department of game and inland fisheries manages this 5,217 - acres of land. Under DGIF management zone, the coastal plains features woodlands and upland wildlife species instead of wetland species. Chickahominy wildlife management area is open for public hunting for extensive turkey populations, White tailed Deer, dove, waterfowl ducks, squirrels and other small game. Prohibited -Stationary blinds are not allowed -The Allen tract of the CWMA is closed for September goose and teal hunting due to Federal migratory game bird laws which prohibit hunting waterfowl(duck hunting). Parking areas are situated across some interior roads and routes 621 and 623. Morrick creek has an outstanding boat ramp that provides fishing access in the Chickahominy river. Fishers includes crappie, catfish, blue and white, and channel. The region allows primitive camping on campgrounds.
