Some of the hunting opportunities include wood duck, turkey vulture, beaver, blue-winged teal, American bittern, mallard, northern shoveler, American wigeon, and hermit warbler. Coquille Valley Wildlife Area can be accessed by following the route North Bank Lane off Highway 42. An access permit is a must and can be taken free of cost at the information desk in the wildlife parking area on North Bank Lane.
