Mostly forested area with some pine woods, ponds, meadows, and marshes consists of 4,228 acres of land in North Vernon. The management offers various fishing, small game and large game hunting opportunities. Some of the commonly found game species in the region are turkey, squirrel, deer, quail, waterfowl, and woodcock. DFW owned Crosley Fish and Wildlife Area has 13 ponds ranging in various size from 2 to 14 acres. Fishing is permitted on all lakes. Out of the 13 water ponds 8 have boat ramps. The management also approves ADA hunting. Camping facility can be accessed at Clifty Falls State Park about 20 miles south.
