Somerset, 4,000 Acres of Public Hunting Land for Dove, Duck – Somerset, Maryland

This land encompasses 4,000 acres which mostly contain marshlands. It is located between the Manokin and Annemessex Rivers in Somerset County. The most part of this land remain wet all year. This area contains lush wetland plants, including wigeon grass, horned pondweed and saltmarsh bulrush and a dense population of invertebrates make Fairmount attractive to many species of waterfowl. The hunters who visit Fairmount WMA can hunt Black ducks, pintails, gadwall, wigeon, blue- and green-winged teal, and many other species of waterfowl which are available there. Any kind of camping facility is not available at the land.
