This region is closed to Crescent city and it is the largest coastal lagoon in California. The area comprises 6,100 acres and has a large number of game animals and bird species available for hunting. The management provides hunting opportunity for quail, canvasback, western grebe beaver, grouse, ducks and coastal black-tailed deer. A boat ramp at the lake gives an access to fishing. There are two access points at the location. The car parking facility is free at both access points. A year-round camping is offered at the adjacent location “Tolowa dunes state park”. Lake earl wildlife area also has a restroom facility along with informational kiosk.
