Dorchester, 485 Acres of Public Hunting Land for Whitetail Deer, Turkey, Dove, Quail, Duck, Exotics – Dorchester, Maryland

This region is a part of Maryland’s department of natural resources open land framework and is overseen by the wildlife and heritage service. The tract includes 485 acres of land of mature oak and loblolly pine woodlands. The agricultural fields at LeCompte provide habitat and winter food for game and non-game wildlife.  Creatures accessible for hunting at land are: white-deer and sika deer, wild turkeys, grieving pigeons, game bird quail, cottontail rabbits, tune fowls and waterfowl. A 35-acres of land is also there to give wintering living space to ducks. No squirrel hunting is allowed at any time. In addition, dove hunting is limited to certain days and shooting hours.
