Diamond C Bow Hunting Ranch is an established, high-fenced, exotic sporting ranch. This Breeding Pasture is loaded with animals not yet released or marketed to be sold. A custom metal building now operates as a well-appointed hunting lodge capable of accommodating up to 16 guests per visit. After a day’s successful hunt, all will enjoy swapping stories under the covered front porch illuminated by the outdoor rocked fireplace. Entering the lodge is a sizable open-concept room with a full kitchen, dining area, living room, and space for a billiards table. There are four bedrooms, three containing two sets of bunks, while one large room has two queen-sized beds. Two full bathrooms with step-in tiled showers lie between the bedrooms and the common area. Next to the lodge sits additional buildings functioning as a gear room, animal processing shed, and a one-room guest cottage. The foreman’s house, with a fenced yard and a water treatment system for the ranch, is conveniently located next to the hunting facilities. The Breeding Pasture is a unique experience with a multitude of exotics running about. As hunters leave the crowded home pasture, they enter the quiet and secluded “Back 400”. This is Diamond C’s primary hunting pasture with huge, mature live oak mottes and bull mesquite patches.  A herd of aoudad and scattered Red Stag work through the southern post oaks thickets, while the blackbuck tends to roam the open fields to the north. Axis and fallow deer can be seen scampering in the distance as one traverses the woodlands and into the edges. Planted fields of wheat supplement the animals through the winter and then are scratched up to allow the native sunflowers to pop up during the summer to bring in flights of white-wing and mourning dove for the fall hunting season. This “Back 400” comes complete with a shallow duck pond that fluctuates and maintains the needed habitat for seasonal hunts. A draw running through the entire pasture provides ample water and supplies a 2.6-acre bass pond before running through to the Trophy Pasture. This 80 acres of the heaviest cover has the most dramatic elevation on the ranch and provides the preferred habitat for mature aoudad and mouflon sheep.
