2700 Acre, year round, Alcohol and smoke free

Thanks for your interest in this hunting lease. The property is a 2,700 acre working cattle ranch located in Hamilton and Erath counties. The closest town is Hico, located about 3 miles away. The town of Hico has gas stations, feed stores, a hardware store, restaurants, and a grocery store. Downtown Hico also offers free wireless internet. The ranch has very rocky, rolling terrain with flood plain along the Bosque River. The Bosque River borders the northern end of the property. There are a couple of creeks that also run through parts of the ranch. There are several stock tanks as well as a 23 acre lake. There are quite a few oak and cedar thickets. The cabin is a converted rock goat barn located in a remote area of the ranch. It has hot water, electricity, drinkable well water, and a bathroom with a shower. It has two bedrooms, a den, and a kitchen. One bedroom has one set of bunk beds, and the other has two sets of bunk beds for a total of six beds. The den has a fold out couch. The cabin has air-conditioning, and a wood stove and electric heaters for heat. The kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, oven, and microwave. A stone fire pit is located outside and can be used for cooking or a campfire. There is satellite TV that receives the local DFW stations, in the den. The cabin is rustic but very comfortable. You may bring your own travel trailer or camper and park it adjacent to the cabin for your own personal use. There are electricity and water hookups for trailers. The ranch has deer, turkey, and wild hogs. Black Buck, Red Deer, Elk, and Fallow Deer have been spotted on the ranch. There is dove hunting in the fall and good duck hunting on the main lake. There are also coyote, bobcat, and fox. Two deer are allowed per member. The limit is two bucks, of which one trophy buck and one spike buck are allowed. TP&W antler restrictions are in effect in these counties, so please be familiar with the restrictions before hunting. Shooting doe or antlerless deer is not allowed. Two turkeys are allowed per year. You may take as many hogs and varmints as you wish. TP&W limits apply to waterfowl and migratory game birds. You may bring your child to hunt with you at no extra charge. They must hunt in the blind with you. Any deer or turkey taken by your child counts toward your limit. We allow a maximum of thirteen hunters on the lease. Each hunter is given an area to hunt. You have the option of feeding and erecting a stand or blind; however, all deer hunting is from stands or blinds only. Bow hunters may put up tree stands or tripods in the vicinity of their feeders. For safety reasons, still hunting or stalking is not allowed. If you want to hunt another area, you must get permission from that stand owner. During the off season, the ranch is a great place to visit with your kids. Enjoy starry nights around the campfire. You can search for arrowheads or look for fossils along the creeks and river. There are several old homesteads that are interesting to explore. In the spring, the ranch is covered with wildflowers. Glen Rose is thirty minutes away and offers canoe and kayak rentals for day trips down the Brazos River. This is a non-smoking and non-drinking lease. Please contact me for the latest guest policy. Pets are also not allowed. You have year-round access to the ranch. Two-wheel drive vehicles can access most of the main roads in dry weather. Caution should be taken during wet weather on parts of the main roads and all of the secondary roads. 4-wheelers are not allowed.
