Coshocton, 19,246 Acres of Public Hunting Land for Whitetail Deer, Turkey, Duck, Exotics – Coshocton, Ohio

This hunting tract lies in east-central Ohio approximately five miles west of Coshocton. There are over 150 small water impoundments on this area, most of which were developed during strip-mining activities. The total area of this land is 19,246 acres. The animals which are available for hunting at Woodbury WMA include: white-tailed deer, squirrels, cottontail rabbits, wild turkey, waterfowl, and ruffed grouse. Moreover, fur bearers including beaver, muskrat, raccoon, opossum, and skunk are also there in good numbers. Deer and grouse hunting is productive throughout the area, especially in old fields, cut over timber, old strip-mine spoil banks, and brush transition zones. Rabbit hunting is optimal in brush uplands and along field edges. Good squirrel hunting can be done in all the residual stands of timber. The shooters who are age 17 and under are not required to purchase a permit, but they must be directly monitored by an adult (age 18 years or older) holding a valid shooting range permit.
