Texas Parks and Wildlife Department owns this land of 12,320 acres that gives small and large game hunting chances. Primary wildlife animals available for hunting at the location include white-tailed deer, feral hogs, squirrels, rabbits, fur bearers, raccoon, waterfowl, turkeys, kunk, bobcat, gray squirrel, coyote, gray fox, and various migrant bird species. The Big Lake Wildlife Management Area is closed for deer hunting when the water level rises 236 msl at Seven Mile access gauge. This WMA is about 15 miles west of Blytheville in the Mississippi County. There are campsites that allow primitive camping. An improved parking area facility is available.
